ElectroBloom is a coming-of-age story. A fusion of piano, electroacoustic, minimalism, spoken word, and pop, this album chronicles the personal and creative journey of Lucy Kong’s twenties.
While the work is inspired by Joan Lindsay’s famous novel, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Peggy doesn’t just retell the story in a linear sense, but explores it in a dimensional sense, referring to some of the characters and events while exploring the nature of time.
Dream is a triptych of songs all inspired by fantasy.
The Art of Disappearing is a song cycle meditating on the nature of grief. The eight songs, for mezzo soprano and string quartet, together tell stories of reminiscence, loss and grief. The cycle doesn’t present loss as something to solve; instead, it paints the inexorable journey from stasis, as we learn to move again.
